Principal
Welcome Message
Dear Harbour View Families and Community Members,
My name is Jenifer de Lachica, and I am truly honored to serve as the principal of Harbour View Elementary School. Each day, I am inspired by the dedication of our teachers and staff, the creativity of our innovative programs, and the unwavering support of our parent community. Together, these partnerships create a thriving learning environment that prioritizes every child’s success. Harbour View is truly an extraordinary place for students, with thriving programs in General and Special Education, and Dual Language Immersion (DLI).
Harbour View’s General and Special Education teachers are rich in their talents, certifications, and desire to offer unlimited opportunities to all students. Consistently seeking ways to uphold high teaching standards for themselves, our educators participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), workshops, and program staff developments. Every teacher strives to provide a welcoming environment for students to learn. In third through fifth grade, our General Education programs have GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) cluster classes at each grade level. Our Special Education classes include Speech & Language, Specialized Academic Instruction, and Special Day Classes at every grade level.
We are privileged to have a Spanish/English Dual Language Immersion program in grades kindergarten through 5th. Our DLI teachers, students, and parents work tirelessly to promote culture awareness on campus. Dia de los Muertos, Dia de los Niños, and Día de los Reyes Magos are a few examples of celebrations that take place on campus inspired by our DLI program.
Harbour View’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA) goes above and beyond to support our mission: to make Harbour View an equitable, inclusive, and joyful place where all students feel safe, valued, and capable of reaching their fullest potential. Our PTA works as a team to make sure classrooms are equipped with needed resources. They arrange family engagement activities, and focus on “FUN” for students. Please head to the PTA page and be sure to follow them on instagram for updates and information (@harbourviewpta) or go to their website to join or volunteer (www.harbourviewpta.membershiptoolkit.com).
All of our programs would not be possible without the support of our Classified staff. They come with commitment and talents beyond measure. Whether you walk into the front office, our beautiful library, lunch area, health tech’s office, campus grounds, or classrooms, you can count on observing efficiency and care.
Here at Harbour View, we believe that when children know they belong and are supported, they are empowered to take risks, embrace challenges, and achieve great things. As principal, I am committed to fostering the various needs of our diverse population. I look forward to working hand in hand with our staff, families and community to ensure every student’s experience is meaningful, engaging, and filled with opportunities to grow.
Thank you for entrusting us with your children. Together, we will keep students at the center of all we do.
With gratitude and excitement,
Jenifer de Lachica
